Hayward, Russel Floyd
Russell Floyd Hayward (1910 - 1997) was born and died in Matalkatla, Annette Islands, Alaska. He is a member of the Tshimsean First Nation. His parents fished for a living and he was born aboard a boat at Point Davidson on Annette Island. After attending at Chemawa, he attended the Willamette University. He taught Tsimshian language and Art to those who were interested at the age of 81. He had 10 childred and served for 24 years as the secretary of Metlakatla council.
