Joseph, Julia
Julia Joseph is a member of the Ditidath First Nation, born 1958 in Nitinath. She has been weaving for over 50 years and learned the patience and craftsmanship from her Mother Edith Joseph as well as from Ida Jones, another well known cedar bark weaver. After living in Nanaimo for 22 years, she now moved back to Nitinath and just enjoys her life living in and with nature, spending most of her time smoking salmon, preparing for the winter and weaving. A beautiful, kind and warm hearted lady who I really enjoyed meeting and chatting with. She has so many stories to tell and loves to share them. That's one of the reason why she started teaching over 30 years ago.
