Howard LaFortune SR, born in June of 1964 in Duncan BC, is an accomplished Coast Salish artist. He started carving in 1979, being taught by is older brother Doug LaFortune. Howard is the second youngest of his 6 brothers, all carvers, even many of his nephews carve. Howard is well known for caving Masks, figures and rattles. His carvings are collected around the world and can be found in only the finest Gallery's. Howard now resides on Tsawout with his wife and four children.
