Natrall, Andrew (1895-1988)
Andrew Natrall (Kapelkeh) 1885-1988 , was a Coast Salish Artist and a member of the Squamish Nation in Mission, BC Canada. He was a master carver, but also a longshoreman, a fisherman, a logger and well respected medicine man. He mostly carved figurines, totem poles and masks. Andy spoke the Squamish dialect fluently, and he had an excellent knowledge of the Squamish peoples culture and history - which he past on to his children. Under his tutelage, his sons Patrick (1943-1986), James (1926-2009) and Harold (1939- ) became well known master carvers in their own rights.
