Nelson, Clarence

Clarence Nelson, (1969-2017), was a member of the Kwakiult First Nation. He originates from Kwakiutz Quatsino and started carving at a very young age, when he was five years old. He was also a singer and dancer and often signed his pieces with "uhmidi" which means the one that gives feast. He resided on Vancouver Island on the Pacific Northwest Coast of British Columbia, Canada.
