Seaweed, Alfred (1949 - 2020)

Alfred Seaweed (1949 – 2020), a member of the Kwakiulth First Nations, originating from Alert Bay, a small fishing village near Vancouver Island. Sadly, our friend passed away – way to soon and we will miss him a lot. He was such a beautiful and gentle human being. Alfred took the Sisiutl through his mother and the Eagle through his father as his family crest. He started carving in 1978 and apprenticed under Lloyd Wadhams, also a very well known artist.
