William Wadhams, born in 1966, originates from Alert Bay, British Columbia. He is a member of the Kwakwakaw 'wakw First Nation and owns the Thunderbird and the Sisiutl (double-headed sea serpent) as his family crests. He started carving at a very young age and comes from a large family of very well known artists and carvers and credits his uncle Ray Wadhams for his teachings.
Through his artwork, he's trying to help preserve and bring awareness to his native culture.
