Absolutely beautiful piece of Indigenous Art

Thunderbird MASK

Hand carved of solid cedar wood - very interesting and powerful painting - so rich. The artist unfortunatley did not sign this piece, but clearly shows his love for this art. Geat quality craftsmanship. This mask was probably originally not made for the market but for ceremonies in the family/tribe. It originates from Port Hardy/Alert Bay area - on Vancouver island, BC, Canada.

Measurements: 11" x 7 1/2" x 8" (29 x 19 x 20 cm)

It does have some age and shows signs of gentle handling - have a close look at the images please - it's gorgeous and very impressive.
