Beautiful solid piece of yellow cedar

EAGLE wall art carving by master artist Alfred Robertson from Kingcome Inlet, a member of the Kwagiulth First Nation.

adorned with lots of cedar bark, cedar rope, beautifully painted in traditional colors, still showing the natural grain of the wood. The color of the wood around the eye is natural grain. 

Measurements incl. cedar bark: 23" x 15" x 1 1/2"  (59 x 38 x 4 cm)

Meaning: The Eagle symbolizes grace, power and great intellect. It is a sacrewd and noble creature representing power and prestige to the First Nations people of the Northwest Coast. It symbolizes wisdom and has a special and direct connection to the creator. Eagles mate for life and are therefore also seen as a symbol of lasting love and dedication. It is told that the Eagle end their own life in despair when the mate is lost. Eagle feathers are used in the most important ceremonies, a display of respect, courage, Chieftainship and wisdom. The Eagle is the ruler of sky.
