VERY impressive piece
This Totem Pole is really a piece to show off, it makes every room. It's hand carved out of a solid piece of red cedar. Hand painted, traditional colors used.
It shows the Thunderbird with Whale spirit above the Bear by a member of the Williams Family (probably Harry Williams Sr.)
It's an older piece - it does show some minor signs of gentle handling and aging. It comes from the Nootka (Nuuh-chah-nulth) First Nations, originating from Port Alberni on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada's Pacific Northwest Coast. This piece is not signed but very easy recognizable as a piece from the Williams family, who is world wide known for their totem poles - just a fabulous example by one of the seniors of the family. Estimated age is 1960's.
Measurements: 27 1/2" tall, Pole is 5 1/2" x 4 1/4", wingspan 26", the base is 7" x 4" x 1/2"
Have a look, it's amazing!
