EAGLE DANCE PADDLE by Laurence Scow from the Kwakiulth First Nation on Vancouver Island, BC, Pacific's Northwest Coast.
Have a look at the details and the choice of color - it just is vibrant. Laurence shows off the beautiful piece of cedar, He carved this paddle for a potlatch and it clearly has been used in a dance. At the back of the paddle it shows the artists signature in pencil as well as the name of the lady who was dancing it. Since it has been used, it shows some signs of handling but only on the back. Please have a look at the images. It's easy recognizable as one of Laurence's pieces of art carvings, but in this one he put some extra love into it, you can clearly see it.
