Large SALMON with Eagle spirits, wall art carving by Nootka Master artist Brian Bob

Richly inlaid with Abalone, beautifull clean piece of yellow cedar, flat grain. Very deep carving, gorgeous flow, superb craftsmanship!! The body of the salmon shows eagle symbols, each of them inlaid with Abalone's (Mother of pearl). This piece is so elegant and since the wood is so pristine - it clearly doesn't need any paint or stain - it's just so beautiful. Signed at the back - carved in front, prepared for wall hanging. Just a superb example of art from the North American First Nations (Pacific Northwest)

Measurements: 28" x 8" x 1/2" (71 x 20 x 2 cm)

Meaning: The Salmon symbolizes prosperity, renewal and fertility. They are one of the most important and highest respected animals of all since they have been the primary food source from the beginning of time to the Northwest Coast First Nations.

Note: Shipping overseas might be available - please contact me for details and costs - Thank you
