Moon Amulette / pendant - with old Russian Trade beads - by Stanley Hunt, carved for his brother, late Chief Tony Hunt Sr.
ONE piece of beautiuful yellow cedar, the face of the moon is not mounted on top, the carving is so detailed. Wearing this piece shows of the powerful expression. the painting is vibrant in light blue, green, red and black. It has been made with so much love. It has 4 dark blue, large old Russian trade beads and 2 old rare yellow beads. It's signed at the back by Stan and his wife with love and thanks to his brother. Our friend Chief Tony Sr. and his son, Tony Hunt Jr. sadly passed away in 2019 - we miss them both. The face of the moon does show some minor signs of gentle handling/wear, could be "polished" away - but I will leave it as is - it just adds to the special character of this piece. One of the blue russian trade beads is chipped.
Measurements: 4 1/4" x 4" x 1 1/2" (11 x 10 x 4 cm)
Meaning: The Moon illuminates the dark and is seen as a guardian spirit
