WINTER SALMON

wall art carving, by master artist Rupert Jeffrey from the Skeena River. Rupert used old red cedar for this carving, painted in traditional red and black, he inlaid the eye and the tail of the salmon with abalone. The carving lines are very clean, you can clearly see the many years of experience Rupert has. and did you see the teeth? Just a gorgeous and authentic piece of Indigenous Art. Carved in front, signed at the back, made and prepared for wall hanging. 

Measurements: 15 1/2" x 6 1/2" x 1/4" (40 x 15 x 0.5 cm)

Meaning: The Salmon symbolizes prosperity, renewal and fertility. They are one of the most important and highest respected animals of all since they have been the primary food source from the beginning of time to the Northwest Coast First Nations.
