Another absolutely beautiful, high quality piece of Indigenous Art by Coast Salish First Nation artist Detreck George

Pair of Salmon, male and female with human spirits

Gorgeous yellow cedar - so clean and bright. The carving lines are superb, showing Detreck's many years of experience and his love for the craft. He kept the painting in the traditional red and black, playing with the colors to show the difference between male and female. The female has eggs in it's belly - both have human spirits in their tail. Very nice piece!

Measurements: 15" x 8" x 1" (38 x 20 x 2.5 cm)

Meaning: The Salmon symbolizes prosperity, renewal and fertility. They are one of the most important and highest respected animals of all since they have been the primary food source from the beginning of time to the Northwest Coast First Nations.
