Incredible piece of Art by Nusmata, Jarrod Saunders, a member of the Nuxalk First Nation, originating from Bella Coola.

Large SEAL BOWL

Solid, red cedar, very impressive piece! The wood is gorgeous, have a look at the image I provided from the inside of the bowl, it's beautiful. The carving proofs highest quality craftsmanship and love for this art. The bowl is inlaid with 10 (!) pieces of Abalone (Mother of pearl) - they are inlaid - not glued on top - again, Quality!! The carving lines are superbly clean, so many details - the bowl is beautifully curved which truly adds to the expression of the seal.

Measurements: 23" x 8" x 5" (58.5 x 20 x 13 cm)

Meaning: The Seal is a symbol for curiosity, creativity and imagination, they teach us to embrace our natural sense of explorations and playfulness. They can dive to incredible depths so are known to be fearless and agile creatures, very trusting and playful.
