Another impressive and massive piece by the Kwakiulth First Nation Artist Gino Seward
VERY thick SALMON art carving
this salmon is very detailed with lots of deep carving lines. It's stained in a dark brown which still shows the beautiful natural grain of the wood. As most of his pieces, it's carved in the front, signed at the back, made and prepared for wall hanging, hanger already attached. Just a beautiful piece of Art.
Measurements: 16" x 5" x 1/2" (40 x 12.5 x 2 cm)
Meaning: The Salmon symbolizes prosperity, renewal and fertility. They are one of the most important and highest respected animals of all since they have been the primary food source from the beginning of time to the Northwest Coast First Nations.
