Another gorgeous piece of Art from the Pacific Northwest

Beautiful yellow cedar MOTHER BEAR holding baby CUB wall art carving by master artist Detreck George from the Coast Salish First Nation

Just such a beautiful expression, the lines are clean and deep, the painting is outstanding, kept in traditional colors, showing off the beauty of the yellow cedar. FULLY HAND CARVED!!! Made and prepared for wall hanging, hanger already attached, signed at the back.

Measurements: 18 1/2" x 8" x 1" (47 x 20 x 2.5 cm)

Meaning: The Bear is a symbol for power, courage, physical strength and leadership. Warrior's e.g. are known to wear bear claw necklaces which meant protection. In Haida culture the Bear is referred to as "Elder Kinsman" and was treated like a high ranking guest.
