Another beautiful piece by Alfred Robertson from Kingcome Inlet, from the Kwakiulth First Nation
Hand carved and hand painted RAVEN Mask -prepared for wall hanging. It's articulated - rich expression!!!
Carved to perfection by Alfred Robertson, adorned with lots of traditional cedar bark which is so much work to collect and treat and cut before it can be used, the beak can be closed and opened through a thin lining. Just think about the work and many hours the artist put into this piece. It's also adorned with colored dark red cedar rope. Nice clapping sound!! All around a fabulous piece of true Indigenous Art from the First Nations of North America.
Measurements: total height: 20", Raven head itself: 17" x 4" x 4" (total: 51 cm/ 43 x 10 x 10 cm)
