Title: Raven stealing the light
This beautiful mask is signed at the back by Randy, dated 2021. Very vibrant colors, the carving and the painting are both close to perfection. You can clearly see the many years of experience of this art as well as the love for this art. Randy, who's working together with his wife Janice Morin, always pays so much attention to details.
Isn't the raven holding the light - just beautiful? The painting, even though just 3 colors used, is so rich and really powerful. The face is adorned with lots of horse hair and decorated with cedar rope. Randy used Bass wood for this mask The Raven's wings are seen spreading on each side of the face. Really a remarkable piece. The eyes are inlaid with abalone (mother of pearl) Have a close look, I will provide lots of images as always - I just love this piece!!!
