Oh, this one is fun - you will never find another one like this!!!!

Dzunukwa Sculpture (Wild Woman) with Basket, 3 ft. tall by Max Chickite from the Lekwiltok First Nations tribe of the Kwakwakaw' wakw from Quadra Island, British Columbia's Pacific Northwest Coast.

I will provide a video of this piece -it truly is remarkable. The carving is excellent, you can clearly see the knife finish on it. A LOT of work was involved in this piece. The face is NOT mounted on top - it's fully carved out of the solid piece of cedar. Lots of details. brown horse hair, painted in traditional colors black, orange and red. Excellent expression in her face. Dzunukwa is known to be a bringer of wealth but she is also greatly feared by children since she is roaming through the woods, searching for them to kidnap and to carry them home with the plan to eat them.... but, well.... legend goes that she is mostly outsmarted by the children and they escape by ripping a hole in the bottom of the basket and make a run for it....

It's just a wild, authentic, fascinating and very impressive piece of art. Have a close look. - Signed underneath the base, dated 1996

For full disclosure: minor restoration on foot underneath the skirt, stabilized, non-threatening, not visible when standing, see images. - no overseas shipping

Measurements: approx. 3 ft (36" x 16" x 18"
