Truly remarkable 46" Eagle Spirit Transformation mask by Sammy Dawson.
This 46" Transformation masterpiece by Kwakwaka'wakw First Nations artist Sammy Dawson is a spectacular piece of true Indigenous Art! Have a look at the pictures - I think they speak for themselves. The mask is prepared with handles, connected through linings which do open and close the beak of the eagle.
This piece is hand carved from cedar, decorated with faux "baby eagle" feathers and lots of traditional cedar bark. The painting is SUPERB!!! This piece is signed at the back and made and prepared for wall hanging. Just a very special and impressive piece - again, very hard to find and not many of them are available on the market!!!
Measurements: 46" wide open, Height: 33" (incl. cedar bark), Eagle head: 23" deep, 9" wide,, human portrait mask 16" tall, 8" wide, not counting the little eagle head on top. The mask is 15-20 years old.
