The quality of this piece really is out of this world...

Magnificent EAGLE Dance PADDLE by master artist Silas Coon, a member of the Kwakiulth First Nations, taught by George Hunt Jr. and Silas Cousin Beau Dick, originating from Kingcome Inlet, BC

I will be adding a picture, showing how these kind of dance paddles are used

This piece is really incredible. Inlaid with 8 pieces of Abalone - and I mean, inlaid, not glued on top, that is so much work. The carving lines are exceptionally detailed and clean, the copper painting on top of the dark stain is amazing - and it does accentuate the natural grain of the wood. All fully hand made, carved, painted and designed. Made and prepared for wall hanging, signed at the back, hanger attached. Silas's art pieces can clearly be seen as investments since no artist are currently, nor will be doing this kind of works in the future.

Measurements: 28 1/2" x 5" x 1"

Meaning: Eagles mate for life and are therefore also seen as a symbol of lasting love and dedication. It is told that the Eagle end their own life in despair when the mate is lost. Eagle feathers are used in the most important ceremonies, a display of respect, courage, Chieftainship and wisdom.
