Elegant, powerful and vibrant
EAGLE with salmon egg symbol, art carving by our friend and master artist Bear (Doug) Horne from the Coast Salish First Nation on Vancouver Island.
Gorgeous piece of cedar, carved in very clean lines, the expression is just wonderful, the painting very precise and kept in the traditional colors red and black. Another piece of superb art which is easy recognizable as one of Bear's (Doug's) art. He signed it at the back, it's made and prepared for wall hanging, hanger already attached.
Measurements: 30" tall, 9" wide and 1" thick (76 cm x 23 cm x 2.5 cm)
Meaning: Eagles mate for life and are therefore also seen as a symbol of lasting love and dedication. It is told that the Eagle end their own life in despair when the mate is lost. Eagle feathers are used in the most important ceremonies, a display of respect, courage, Chieftainship and wisdom.
