What a beautiful piece of Art by female First Nation artist Sarah Daniels (nee Robertson) from the Kwakiutl nation, Kingcome Inlet, BC.
Wooden SALMON BOWL
hand carved in great detail, deep carving lines, hand painted and signed. Sarah used sugar pine for this piece and she said she just loved carving it, the wood was so soft and clean and just nice to handle. That's why she added some extra detailing in this piece and spent a lot of time on it.
Measurements: 15" x 8 1/2" x 1 1/2"
Meaning: The Salmon symbolizes prosperity, renewal and fertility. They are one of the most important and highest respected animals of all since they have been the primary food source from the beginning of time to the Northwest Coast First Nations
