Fully hand carved, hand painted, solid piece of old growth red cedar

RAVEN

wall carving, by Trevor Hunt, a master artist from the Kwakiulth First Nations on Vancouver Island.

Really fantastic - the live edge left on the old growth red cedar just makes this piece truly special and unique. Trevor has clearly a lot of experience and a great talent for design and craftsmanship. The carving lines are very deep, very detailed, very clean. The raven is inlaid with many pieces of Abalone (Mother of pearl), the eye of the raven is decorated with copper - truly outstanding. This piece makes every room.

Measurements: 31" x 22" x 2"

Meaning: The Raven is known to be the transformer, trickster and creator. In the Kwakwaka'wakw culture the Raven is known as the messenger of the sky and famous for being a somewhat mischievous glutton. He's always out to please himself and to have a good time. He's very adventurous.
