Absolutely gorgeous

Large, wooden BEAR wall art carving, designed, hand carved and hand painted by Neil Baker, a member of a large family of First Nations artists from the Coast Salish (Squamish) First Nations, originating from Vancouver Island.

Beautiful red cedar - very detailed, clean cut-out, highest quality craftsmanship - the color chosen is really vibrant and beautiful. Neil put a lot of work into each piece - the carving is truly excellent, made and prepared for wall hanging, signed at the back.

Measurements: 25" x 8 1/2" x 1"

Meaning: The Bear is a symbol for power, courage, physical strength and leadership. Warrior's e.g. are known to wear bear claw necklaces which meant protection. In Haida culture the Bear is referred to as "Elder Kinsman" and was treated like a high ranking guest.
