Another absolutely fabulous piece of Indigenous Art just arrived in our Gallery.
Raven Mask by Coast Salish artist Randy Stiglitz
The Raven is articulated and makes a really nice clapping sound.
The Raven is decorated with a large cedar bark skirt, the eyes are inlaid with large pieces of Abalone, the painting is as usual just close to perfection, the carving and the expression of the trickster Raven is marvelous. This is superb quality. The mask is prepared for wall hanging but also looks fabulous on a stand. The stand is not included but if you would like to have the display stand (solid, beautiful and thick red cedar base) please contact me. Added costs for the stand are $100 CAD).
Please have a look.
Measurements: 18" long beak (not including the cedar bark), 7" high, 7" wide, total height incl. cedar is 32"
Meaning: The Raven is known to be the transformer, trickster and creator. In the Kwakwaka'wakw culture the Raven is known as the messenger of the sky and famous for being a somewhat mischievous glutton. He's always out to please himself and to have a good time. He's very adventurous.
