Beautiful and high quality, very detailed (!) carving of a
3D BEAR Talking Stick by Kwakiulth First Nation Artist Gino Seward
This piece is fully knife finished, you can clearly see the knife marks, just incredible. Gino really puts so much love and work in every single piece of his art. Stained in dark brown and polished wood. The stain Gino applied just accentuates the beautiful grain of the wood. Easy recognizable as one of Gino's pieces. Signed. The bear is carved all around and Gino paid so much attention to details. Beautiful. Great for wall hanging.
Measurements: 12" x 2" x 2"
Meaning: The Bear is a symbol for power, courage, physical strength and leadership. Warrior's e.g. are known to wear bear claw necklaces which meant protection. In Haida culture the Bear is referred to as "Elder Kinsman" and was treated like a high ranking guest
