Please have a close look at the images - there is so much going on... The face of the Whale Hunter is adorned with Killer Whale's on each side. The tails of each whale is depicting Eagles, below the fin's you can see another little eagle, it depicts the Killer Whale's blowhole while the cedar bark is depicting the Whale's breath.... The painting of this piece is just mesmerizing and so powerful. Black and gray looks just fabulous over the yellow of the cedar - The red accents used are adding to the expression and are just balancing it out beautifully. - It's all the little extra's the artist is putting into his works - You truly can see how much he loves it. The carving lines are so deep!!! The black cedar rope is giving the mask the perfect frame. Just an outstanding and extremely high quality piece of true Indigenous art!
