Another beautiful piece by the Kwakiulth First Nation Artist Gino Seward
Very thick and solid SALMON
this salmon is very detailed with lots of deep carving lines. It looks great on the wall and also absolutely beautiful when standing on a fire place mantle. It's really thick and very strong. Gino applied a dark brown stain which accentuates the grain of the wood. As most of his pieces, it's carved in the front, signed with carved initials at the back, hanger attached. Just a beautiful piece of Art.
Measurements: 16" x 5" x 1 1/2" (41 cm x 13.5 cm x 4 cm)
Meaning: The Salmon symbolizes prosperity, renewal and fertility. They are one of the most important and highest respected animals of all since they have been the primary food source from the beginning of time to the Northwest Coast First Nations.
