Large RAVEN Mask - by Indigenous artist Walawidi, Tom D. Hunt, a member of the Kwakiulth First Nations from Vancouver Island, BC.
This piece is as good as it gets. The carving on it is just spectacular! The carvings lines are deep, a real masterpiece and the expression is elegant and VERY powerful. I will let the images speek for themselves....
The Raven mask is huge. It's prepared for wall hanging, but looks fabulous as a centrepiece in every room.
Measurements: 24" x 16" x 10"
Meaning: The Raven is known to be the transformer, trickster and creator. In the Kwakwaka'wakw culture the Raven is known as the messenger of the sky and famous for being a somewhat mischievous glutton. He's always out to please himself and to have a good time. He's very adventurous.
