Title: "WHAT OUR CHILDREN ARE BORN INTO"

by master artist Tim Paul from the Hesquiaht Nation (Nuu-chah-nulth)

This piece comes straight from Tim’s heart. He’s sad and very worried, so he expressed it in this piece of art. The world is shown, depicting the forests, the oceans, eyes watching what’s happening. Fires and floodings – one side and eye charred, already burned – the eyes of the moon watching, shocked, worried, scared and sad. The expression is absolutely mesmerizing!

In the artists words:

“Kwii-cu-iik-nas – the whole nature, the sky, the mountains, the eyes of nature and the land, the blue and white of the oceans, the black charring of mother earth.

Fires, Winds, Floods – Climate Change

The human – what our children are born into

ta-na – Our children and grandchildren qwa-uuts”

Fully hand carved, hand painted, no machines used, aged red cedar. Vibrant colors, very clean painting. Tim spent so much time on the details of this piece, the cut-outs in the ocean, fabulous. All over superb craftsmanship, combining tradition and art, history and nature, wisdom and warning.

Measurements: 22” x 21” x 4”
