Another gorgeous new piece of native American art by Coast Salish First Nation artist Randy Stiglitz -  master carver and artist from the Pacific Northwest Coast First Nations

Large and powerful Mask!!!

Komokwa and Sisiutl

This beautiful piece of art is guaranteed authentic, fully hand carved, hand painted, designed and signed at the back by Randy Stiglitz and Janice Morin (Randy's partner and well known First Nation artist as well). Beautiful vibrant colors, the carving and the painting are both close to perfection. You can clearly see the many years of experience of this art as well as the love for this art. Both, Randy and Janice always pay so much attention to details.

The Sisiutl (sea serpent) is depicted adorning the face of the Komokwa with both serpent heads on each side - so detailed. The mask is decorated with lots of cedar bark which just adds to the powerful expression. Randy loves to work with bass wood, as did he with this piece. Really a remarkable mask. He finished it by adding a hand made cedar rope. Have a close look, I will provide lots of images as always - This mask in your entrance or living room - it will be so impressive, a one-of-a-kind that makes every room. It has a very kind expression - wonderful.

Measurements: 16" x 12 1/2" x 9" (not counting the cedar bark)

Meaning: The Komokwa is of major importance in Kwaguilth mythology. He was the king of the undersea world, master and protector of the seals who were a symbol of wealth. His name means "wealthy one" and he ruled from a great rich house under the water. The house contained great wealth in blankets, coppers and other treasures
