FEAST BOWL, large, impressive piece of native American art, direct from the artist Tom LaFortune from the Tsawout First Nations, origination from the southern parts of Vancouver Island, BC.
What a great centerpiece - and nobody will have another one like it!!! Tom used Alder wood for this piece. Please have a close look, it's fully carved out by hand - you can clearly see the knife marks - it truly is a marvelous piece of Art. This graceful expression was very difficult to achieve, only an artist with many years of experience and definitely lots of love for this art can master this. The painting is also close to perfection, traditional colors black and red, showing off the gorgeous clear yellow of the wood. These kind of bowls are used in many ceremonies. They are often depicting Wolves, Eagles, Loons, Bears or Otters. Don't miss the chance to get a piece of true Indigenous art by this artist, as he said, he won't make another one like it and he put a tremendous amount of work and time into this piece.
Measurements: 24" long, 13 1/2" wide, 19 1/2" high to top of loon's head. The bowl's rim is 8 1/2" high
