What a beauty!!! Have a look at the quality and expression in this superb piece of Indigenous Art:
Raven House Moon by master artist Kolten Khasalus Grant from the house of Lilagawila from Gwa'yi
Just an exceptionally beautiful piece - Kolten again chose the perfect piece of cedar for it. Have a close look at the grain in the wood. The Raven peeking out of the Moon's mouth is carved in such great detail. Excellent craftsmanship. The painting is traditional and very clean. This mask is really easy recognizable as a piece of art by Kolten. I just love the way he carved the eyes. It has a very calming and kind expression, clearly protecting the raven.
Sanded to perfection, very smooth. A real masterpiece of authentic and fully hand carved native American art from the First Nations of the Pacific Northwest. Signed at the back, made and prepared for wall hanging.
Measurements: 12 1/2" high x 12 1/2" wide x 7" deep
Meaning: The Moon is associated with transformation since it controls the tides and illuminates the dark. It is seen as a guardian spirit. Moon and wife sun are the bringer of good luck and plentiful food. Moon's facial expression is always more delicate and serene than Sun.
