very deep carving, stained and polished solid thick piece of wood, dark stain (Images are taken in sunlight) which accentuates the natural grain of the wood. Gorgeous!! Very impressive piece of Art and so easy recognizable as one of Gino's pieces. Carved in front, prepared for wall hanging, signed with carved initials on back. Stunning expression and excellent craftsmanship - he puts so much work into his pieces of art.

Meaning: The killer whale is a symbol for romance and harmony as Whales mate for life. The Whale is very family oriented and known to travel in large groups, never to be alone. They symbolize great luck and happiness, community and protection. They are a known to always be working together, take care of each other and to always help and protect each other.

Gino Seward  was born in 1972 in Nanaimo, British Columbia. He is of both Coast Salish (father) and Kwakwaka’wakw (mother) descent. Gino began carving at the age of eleven and was taught by his Salish grandfather and by the Kwakiutl...Artist bio and other available works »
