hand carved, hand painted and signed by Simon Silas James (Tanis) (formerly Simon Dick) of the Kwakwaka'wakw First Nation.
Very delicate carving on the beak, have a close look please to appreciate the craftsmanship. You can see the knife marks inside the beak. This hummingbird has a wonderful expression, hand painted in very vibrant colors, decorated with synthetic fur and white hair, which truly gives it such a great contrast to the vibrant light blue painting. Really a beautiful piece, cedar, you can clearly see his many years of experience and his love for this art. Signed on the inside.
Measurements: 22 1/2" long, 18" high when in base, 4" wide, the base is 15 1/2" x 5 1/2" x 2"
Meaning: The Hummingbird teaches you to appreciate and love the miracle of living and to help you focus on the positivity in your life. They represent friendship, playfulness and are a symbol of good luck. They are seen as messengers of peace, heal body and soul and guide you through life's challenges. Hummingbirds are very independent and seem to have an unlimited energy supply. They symbolize wonder, love and beauty.
