Absolutely gorgous
Owl mask
in yellow cedar, designed, hand carved, hand painted and signed by John Henry Hunt from the Kwakwaka'wakw (Kwakiulth) First Nations of Vancouver Island.
Very deep carving. The painting is close to perfect, absolutely gorgeous. John Henry decorated the Owl with painted cedar bark rope and feathers which really gives it a fabulous finish. The colors chosen are vibrant and soft at the same time, beautiful silver-gray combined with white and black. Prepared and ready for wall hanging.
The expression in the owl's face is simply wonderful and...well, cute! This is a real gem and just a fabulous addition to any native art collection.
Measurements: 8 1/2" diameter, 3" deep
Meaning: The Owl is associated with the souls of the ancestors and are viewed with highest respect. They symbolize wisdom, intuition, prophecies and sacred knowledge.
