GRIZZLY BEAR
Really gorgeous design. Everytime we meet, Shane surprises me with something new and different. I really love this design. Of course, fully hand carved, hand painted and signed underneath the base.
Very clean carving lines and you can clearly see the knife marks, traditional colors and even the base is carved - have a look. This piece looks great on every fireplace mantle - Carved in front, beautiful red cedar left natural at the back, just different and special. Or if you are looking for the perfect gift idea.... here it is....
Measurements: 13 1/2" tall, the base is 7 1/2" x 5 1/2", 1" thick
Meaning: The Bear is a symbol for power, courage, physical strength and leadership. Warrior's e.g. are known to wear bear claw necklaces which meant protection. In Haida culture the Bear is referred to as "Elder Kinsman" and was treated like a high ranking guest.
