BEAR sculpture, fabulous craftsmanship
Deep and clean cuts - clean painting in black and red, mounted on wooden base. Signed underneath. This piece clearly shows the "female touch" - just a very beautiful piece which makes the perfect and unique gift or - it's a great start for every native art collection.
Measurements: 9 1/2" tall, base is 5 1/2" x 3 1/2"
Meaning: The Bear is a symbol for power, courage, physical strength and leadership. Warrior's e.g. are known to wear bear claw necklaces which meant protection. In Haida culture the Bear is referred to as "Elder Kinsman" and was treated like a high ranking guest.
