We are honored to present a new artist in our Gallery.
Lightening Snake – on old growth red cedar, designed and hand carved by Indigenous artist Clayton Albany, a member of the Lekwungen/Songhees First Nation, living on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada’s Pacific Northwest Coast.
It was a pleasure meeting this energetic and clearly very talented emerging artist. He already has developed his very own style. Clay used a thick, solid piece of old growth red cedar for this beautiful piece of art. Carving lines are very deep and the design perfectly integrated in this “framed” piece of wood. The edges are left natural, showing a few imperfections which really gives it even more character, have a look. It’s polished and signed at the back. Made and prepared for wall hanging. A very unique and unusual piece of Indigenous art, as always, guaranteed authentic and coming directly from the artist.
