Articulated WOLF Mask by Randy Stiglitz and Janice Morin
Fabulous and very clean carving lines, traditional painting, alder wood -very powerful. Decorated with copper pieces. The carving is close to perfection. Randy is a member of the Coast Salish, Janice is a member of the Cree Nation and together they are working for over 30 years on carvings and paintings - just a fantastic team. This wolf is carved in the Kwakwaka'wakw style. It's titled and signed on the insight, dated 2023. It just came in and we are proud to present it. Superb craftsmanship. Traditional cedar bark added as decoration. The wolf's snout is articulated, and when opened, you can see the teeth - fabulous.
Measurements: wolf itself is 15" long, x 9" high incl. ears x 7"wide, total height incl. cedar bark is approx. 20"
Meaning: The Wolf represents loyalty, strong family ties, good communication, education, understanding and intelligence. Of all land animals, the Wolf has the strongest supernatural powers and is the most accomplished hunter. The Wolf is a very social and communicative creature; he uses body movement, touch and sound
