hand carved, hand painted - such detailed carving by Haida master artist Donavon Gates from Haida Gwaii, a member of the Old Massett band.

Have a close look to appreciate the quality please. The details in Donavon's works are always incredible. This time he chose to paint it in a red and black, still showing the beautiful grain of the red cedar, beautiful piece of wood. Made and prepared for wall hanging, signed with carved Initials at the back. New and marvelous condition. 

Measurements: 24" x 9 1/2" x 1/2"

Meaning:  The Salmon symbolizes prosperity, renewal and fertility. They are one of the most important and highest respected animals of all since they have been the primary food source from the beginning of time to the Northwest Coast First Nations.
