Another incredible piece of true Indigenous Art just arrived

Large SUN Mask, with Killer whale and wolf design on the rays - old growth red and yellow cedar.

This piece is truly special. Hand carved, designed and painted by the Gitskan First Nation Artist RUPERT JEFFREY. The tail of the Whale is shown downwards on the upper ray, which means that the whale is delivering food to the peoples. The eyes of the sun are inlaid with abalone which really makes them stand out. Just a superb piece of art.

Note: The artist did not use nails or screws but only wood pegs on this piece which is part of the beauty!

Measurements: total: 50" x 46" (1.28 x 1.17 m), the sun's face is ca. 19" (49 cm)
