WILD MAN Mask (Bukwus)

solid red cedar, painted in traditional colors, the carving is deep and even though Ernie died way to young, he was very experienced and talented and so enjoyed this art, always keeping within the traditional ways of his family's style of carving - keeping the history alive was so important to him.

Meaning: the Bukwus/Pukmis is a supernatural ghost like figure, also known as the Wild Man of the Woods or the Man of the Sea is associated with the spirits of those who have drowned.

Measurements: 11" x 8 1/2" x 6" (28 x 21.5 x 15.5 cm)
