Aleck, George

George Aleck was born February 28 and is a member of the Coast Salish First Nations, originating from Duncan on Vancouver Island,, British Columbia, Canada. George has been carving for over thirteen years, mainly in cedar wood. George credits his uncle, Willie Good, a well-known Northwest Coast Salish Native artist, as his teacher and mentor. He comes from a large family based from Kuper Island and learned a lot just by watching other family members and artists from his tribe. Today, his experience from many years of carving, his love for the art and his attention to detail makes his pieces of art highly sought after and collected worldwide.
