Aleck, Ron
Ron Aleck is a member of the Coast Salish Nation, originating from the Pacific Northwest Coast of British Columbia, Canada. He is a highly accomplished artist and a part of a large family of painter and artists, best known for his hummingbirds and heron’s but also known to capture the essence of other animals like otter, salmon, Eagles, Thunderbirds and more.
“I love doing my work and have been carving so long that it has become part of me,” said Ron, who is a hereditary chief on both sides of his family. “I gain inspiration from everything I do… from observing the way the light reflects off the wing of a heron to the positive reaction I receive from those who buy my work. If you put love into your carvings, then it shines out.”
