Brown, Noel
Noel Brown is a member of the Coast Salish and Kwagulth First Nations. He was born and still lives on Vancouver Island, near Nanaimo. Noel’s is part of a large family, with many well known artists. His heritage is a combination of his mother Donna Brown and father Jerry Brown. He mainly is a self taught artist, but learned by watching and paying attention. He was surrounded by famous master artists like Richard Baker, Matthew Baker, Chris and Doran Lewis and Craig Manson. Noel has been carving since late 1995. Noel's grandmother is a resident in Cape Mudge.
