Gallic, Willard
Willard Gallic Jr. was born December 20, 1958. He is a renown Tsheshaht carver and artist. His passion for art came from Art Thompson, Patrick Amos and many others. He has two children and three grandchildren.
The Tseshaht First Nation is a vibrant community on the West Coast of Vancouver Island in Port Alberni, British Columbia, with an active and progressive natural resources-based economy. Tsheshaht translates as “the people of Ts’ishaa,” a place on what is known today as Benson Island, one of the Broken Group Islands in Barkley Sound. They are one of the 14 Nations that make up the Nuu-chah-nulth [Nootka] people of western Vancouver Island.
